Ms Shaw, now in her third year at Loreto College Marryatville, has already made a measurable impact on both students and colleagues through her evidence-informed teaching practices.

Ms Shaw holds a Master of Education (Primary) from Australian Catholic University and a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Journalism from the United States. Her diverse academic background enriches her teaching, allowing her to combine creativity, strong communication, and contemporary educational approaches.
During her time at Loreto College Marryatville, Ms Shaw has taught Reception, Year 2 and Year 4, while implementing the Write to Learn program, a structured, research-informed initiative designed to strengthen students’ writing skills. The program has had a clear positive impact on both student engagement and achievement, reflecting Ms Shaw’s thoughtful and reflective approach to teaching.
The impact of Ms Shaw’s literacy teaching is clearly reflected in her students’ results. In 2025, the students she taught in the previous year achieved in the Exceeding or Strong bands for NAPLAN Writing, and 94 per cent achieved in these bands for Reading.

Ms Shaw has also supported colleagues through the Laser Literacy program, modelled lessons for preservice teachers, and led professional learning initiatives on topics including the integration of artificial intelligence in the classroom.
Her leadership extends beyond the school community, with an upcoming presentation at the International Coalition of Girls’ Schools Educating Girls Symposium in Melbourne, where she will deliver a session titled From Curiosity to Creation: AI Integration in the Junior Primary Classroom. In 2025, she also achieved Highly Accomplished Teacher certification, reflecting her professional excellence and commitment to continuous improvement.
