Loreto College Marryatville Welcomes Kylie McCullah as New Principal for 2024
Loreto College Marryatville is pleased to welcome Kylie McCullah to the role of Principal, following the departure of Dr. Nicole Archard, who has taken up the post as Principal at sister school, Loreto Kirribilli in her hometown of Sydney.
With over 20 years of experience in Sydney’s independent school sector, Ms McCullah is committed to finding new opportunities that will broaden learning experiences and prepare and position Loreto students for the world they will both contribute to and lead.
Starting her career as a technology teacher, she quickly evolved into pastoral and curriculum-based leadership roles. Prior to her appointment at Loreto College, Ms. McCullah held the position of Head of Academics (Deputy Headmistress) at St Catherine’s School in Sydney, where she led the academic and wider learning culture for 8 years. Consequently, Kylie is passionate about girls’ education and a firm believer in the importance of building strong character traits in young women, including leadership and self-efficacy.
“These qualities equip girls to enter and contribute to life beyond school with knowledge, skills, confidence, and determination,” says Kylie McCullah.
Ms. McCullah holds a Bachelor of Secondary Education, a Master of Education, and a Certificate of Gifted Education, and has presented at several educational conferences. Most recently, the 2023 International Coalition of Girls’ Schools conference held in Cleveland, USA. She has also contributed to several educational publications, including a published interview with Australian Financial Review, which discussed the increase in demand for STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) subjects.
Ms McCullah is passionate about ensuring students develop the skills to succeed in a fast-changing, technology-driven world.
“It is the role of school leaders to ensure there are programs and facilities in place that allow for ambitious education and future-proofed opportunities. It has been said frequently that today’s students will gain employment in roles that are yet to exist. International research and organisations including the World Economic Forum state that students will join a workforce where their skills such as problem solving, programming and diverse thinking are essential.”
She continues, “Educational programs and facilities must be tailored to the needs of the students. They must include foundational skills of analysis, critical thinking, numeracy, literacy, and the written word alongside technology-rich, authentic leadership-focused programs which place emphasis on strong social and emotional grit, and determination.”
Prospective students and parents are invited to meet Ms McCullah at the upcoming Loreto College tour dates.
Term 1 2024 College Tour Dates:
Friday 16 February, 9am
Friday 8 March, 9am
Saturday 23 March, 10am

We look forward to a thriving 2024, supported by Ms McCullah’s fresh perspectives, guidance, and expertise.
