Award-Winning Artists Celebrated at Beloved Loreto College Marryatville's springART 2024
Loreto College Marryatville is proud to present springART 2024, a unique exhibition of art by award-winning and emerging South Australian artists, with free events announced and opening night tickets on sale from 26th July.
The prestigious annual exhibition, curated by Loreto College Marryatville’s artist and curator in residence Marisha Matthews, will return from 6-8th September at Loreto College.
More than 100 pieces of art created by South Australian artists will be on display in the gallery created for the event with every artwork available to purchase. A large variety of mediums will be featured including paintings, sculpture, jewellery, glasswork, photography and collages.
Opening night attendees will be the first to view the springART 2024 exhibition and have the opportunity to purchase artwork before the general public. The event will be officially opened by Ms Kylie McCullah, Principal of Loreto College Marryatville, followed by guest speaker and Loreto College Marryatville Alumna Jade Torres, Indigenous artist and owner of Pwerle Gallery. Tickets will be released on Friday 26 July 2024, which include entry to the event, canapés provided by Glen Ewin Estate, beverages and soundscape curated by DJ Driller.
This year’s springART will highlight feature artist Lynn Lobo with art focusing on landscapes and still life painting. Lobo has had several solo exhibitions and has co-authored and illustrated a graphic novel. The Loreto springART emerging artist this year is Mia Behrens. Behrens works primarily with oil paints to create still life and portraiture paintings with a strong feminist theory background.
Loreto College Marryatville’s artist in residence, Marisha Matthews said:
“I’m honoured to bring you the latest work of this year’s collection of South Australian artists. Once again, we chose to highlight the work of 2 women artists. As our feature artist we have Lynn Lobo, with Goan heritage and a practice focused on the Fleurieu Peninsula. She recently completed a residency at Sauerbier House with a focus on mountains and rivers. The emerging artist is Mia Behrens – winner of the Hill-Smith Advisory Award for her graduate work at Adelaide Central School of Art.”
Complementing springART is free event on Saturday 7 September, Artist Panel Discussion, where audiences can hear from this year’s feature artist Lynn Lobo, emerging artist Mia Behrens and springART curator Marisha Matthew discuss their artistic journeys and get a behind the scenes look into how the exhibition comes together.
Since 1983, Loreto College springART has provided a special opportunity to showcase South Australian artists whilst raising funds to support Loreto College’s artist in residence program.

Loreto College springART will run from Friday 6th of September to Sunday 8th of September. After Opening Night, the exhibition will be open to the public to view Saturday 10:00am – 4:00pm and Sunday 10.00am – 2.00pm.
